World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen heads the field for the Chessable Masters, the 3rd event in the $1 million Magnus Carlsen Chess Tour. The 12-player $150,000 tournament features the world’s top six players, eight of the Top 10, six of the Candidates (plus Teimour Radjabov), the Lindores Abbey Rapid Challenge finalists Hikaru Nakamura and Daniil Dubov, and Tour debutants Harikrishna and Vladislav Artemiev. It starts Saturday June 20th, with a preliminary stage eliminating four players before the knockout begins.
The tournament is sponsored by chessable.com, the world’s leading online chess training platform, and was introduced as follows by Magnus Carlsen:

The winner will also join Magnus Carlsen, Daniil Dubov and the winner of the 4th event, the Legends of Chess, in the $300,000 Grand Final this August.
The format is the same as for the Lindores Abbey Rapid Challenge i.e. 15 minutes + 10 seconds/move rapid chess, with a preliminary stage followed by an 8-player knockout where each match is the best of three sets - except for two changes:
